The differential found in the Meridian Birch model basically refers to the sound that the model offers. Unlike Maple, which gives the drum a velvety tone (with emphasis on low frequencies), Birch offers brilliant tone (with the same percentage between low and high frequencies). This basically means that the drummers will be able to have the Meridian with two different sound characteristics, very well defined in the Birch and Maple models. So, whatever the musical style, there will be a Merdian model waiting for you.

The new canoes withstand much more pressure and sustain the tuning for longer. The tone suspension system (ITS) has been totally redesigned, and so the Meridian series has as one of its main characteristics, resonant drums with a lively, brilliant sound, in addition to the wide selection of lacquered and coated finishes.

Each Meridian drum kit is equipped with the newest Mapex 700 Series hardware, which offers an excellent chrome finish, as well as offering much more resistance and stability.
